Bathing in glory - painter Alan Reed scoops two more awards (September 2010)

The North East based painter Alan Reed scooped two new awards, to add to his ever growing collection. Alan decided to enter The Bath Prize 2010 in a bid to once again produce some outstanding pieces of work and exploit his artistic talents to the full.

The Bath Prize 2010 is a competition based on new work inspired by a location in the city of Bath. Entrants are required to produce one painting relating to a location which is allocated to them by the competition organisers. Artist are then required to travel to the beautiful City of Bath to visit to assess the possibilities for their allotted location and to take full advantage of all the visual treats the City has to offer.

The judging panel was chaired by Bath-based painter and gallery owner Nick Cudworth, who was joined by four experienced colleagues. The category winners were announced at a Private View in Bath on September 24th.

Alan commented “On Friday 24th September I was delighted to receive the award of 1st Runner up for my painting of "The Royal Crescent, Bath" and to receive a Highly commended recognition for "Roman Baths by Torchlight" in The Bath Prize 2010.
