Many of us dream of owning art.. real art that is – but struggle with the choice and the cost.
Now a New castle based company is helping us all have a taster of Tate life at home with a unique way of owning the stuff, from canvas to sculpture, photography and beyond.
Victoria Anderson and Craig Millar own Art Evolution, an on-line gallery which offers companies and individuals an exciting new method of accessing contemporary art.
They decided that the best premises to launch the business was in cyber-space, enabling clients view artwork 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The online gallery offers individuals and corporate groups easy access to over 600 pieces of contemporary artwork across a diverse range of photography, sculpture and painting styles.
With prices ranging from £25 to £2500 the gallery dispels the myth that modern art is only affordable to a minority, says Victoria.
“We had been actively involved with the creative industries and worked with numerous artists in North East and wanted to further support the work they were producing and allow wider access to it.
With the region developing culturally there is a much greater interest in artwork now but the majority of the region's artistic talent is unknown because individuals and businesses do not always know where to gain access to the artists. The online gallery showcases high quality art work produced in the North East that was previously not being reached.” She adds.
All artwork is for sale or rent, a unique theme in the North East.
Rental prices start from a few pounds per month, making it possible to change artwork as much as you like, and let yourself grow to love what you see.
Art Evolution offer clients guidance on renting or purchasing the right work for the right space, advice on suitable framing and presentation of work and guides them through the commissioning of bespoke pieces.
Many of the pieces available via the Art Evolution gallery will be on display in interior design stores in the North East.
Already the company has established links with Tempter Interiors, Newcastle, and Durham’s Hini Boutique.
