Frank's Splash of Artistic Colour (August 2009)

Frank Briffa's colour installtion in the foyer area of Whitely Bay Playhouse.

Back in November 2008 Art Evolution artist Frank Briffa was recruited as an advisor for the redevelopment of the Whitley Bay Playhouse.

The abstract painter was contacted by the Artistic Director of Whitley Bay Regeneration, Kieth Barrett, with a view to assisting the project. Having seen Frank’s paintings, he felt he knew something about colour and enquired if the painter would be interested providing advice for colour choices used within the redevelopment of the Whitley Bay Playhouse.

Frank comments "From my point of view it was important that I didn't see this as interior design. As far as I was concerned the challenge was to produce a colour installation rather than a piece of decor - I was, after all, asked to work on this project because of my track record as an painter."

Frank is now nearing the completion of his artwork installations, having worked on schemes for the auditorium and the main reception areas.
