The Art of Food (January 2007)
North East England Campaign reports on North East art gallery Art Evolution and Sidney’s Restaurant, who have joined forces to give local restaurant goers even more to salivate about.
The Tynemouth based restaurant has served up a stunning exhibition of photographs by regional artist Garrod Kirkwood, to add that extra something to the already sumptious dinning. The artwork features coastal images from around the North East and has proved a real hit with restaurant goers.
Art Evolution’s Managing Director Victoria Anderson said ‘We have a fantastic response to Garrod’s artwork and on visiting Sidney’s it is easy to see why. His photographs are stunning and showcase our coastline wonderfully. Garrod has a great talent for capturing a moment, a landscape, with stunning simplicity.
Sidney’s attention to detail is reflected not only in their food but in the feel and look for the restaurant, so we readily agreed to work with them when they approached us.
Sidney’s allows us to showcase artwork by talent North East artists such as Garrod Kirkwood to a wide range of people from across the region and further a field, which is fantastic. Art Evolution will continue to collaborate with Sidney’s Restaurant to bring the artwork of talent North East to ravenous dinners through out 2007. ’
