The Art of Technology (October 2006)

Artwork in store at Bang & Olufsen

North East art gallery Art Evolution and luxury audio equipment suppliers Bang & Olufsen have once more joined forces to raise money for The Children’s Society.

The Children’s Society, is a UK based charity working with over 50,000 children and teenagers every year in 90 towns and cities across the North East and the UK as a whole. It helps: children at risk on the streets, children in trouble with the law, young refugees, also children with disabilities.

‘Evolution’, the second exhibition the two organisations have jointly held, will showcase the work of three North East artist, Mike Bell, Glynnis Carter and Garrod Kirkwood. The exhibition will open with a decadent private viewing at Bang & Olufsens’ prestigious Claypath store, Durham City, on the evening of Thursday 9th November 2006.
The ticket only event is bound to impress with guest being driven, by Oak Leaf Chauffeurs, from a Durham city car park to the store – ensuring they arrive at their destination in style and comfort. A fabulous champagne reception, generously provided by Lovely Bubbly, awaits them as does food by the scrumptious Fresh Element.

Art Evolution’s Managing Director Victoria Anderson said ‘We have a fantastic evening planned to launch ‘Evolution’. The evening and exhibition is about raising money for a great charity and enjoying the finer things in life. How lovely to be chauffeur driven, sip the best champagnes and be surrounded by the beauty of art and technology combined.’

We have an outstanding response from organisations looking to support ‘Evolution’ and The Children’s Society. Lovely Bubbly and Oak Leaf Chauffeurs have been extremely generous offering their services free of charge to help us make the evening a memorable and successful one. Award winning photographer David Lawson is supporting the Exhibition for the second time in six month and we are glad to be welcoming on board Regalo Concierge Services who have a wonderful array of services on offer to make life so much easier!’
Michael Warren, Managing Director of Bang & Olufsen North East ‘We want to say a big thank you to all those supporting Evolution – those attending the private view, those who will visit the exhibition over the next months and those who have been kind enough to devote time and energy to the event. We hope to add to the charitable funds already raised by us and look forward to a great night.

The evening will include a prize draw with fabulous prizes on offer: Stunning artwork from Art Evolution, Bang & Olufsen cutting edge technology, a studio session with award-winning photographer David Lawson and a marvelous PA for the day from Regalo Concierge Services.
