Gordon Lamb
Born in Fife, Scotland, Gordon has been painting since boyhood with an interest in colour rather than in line and is still inspired by French and Scottish colourists. Gordon is free ranging in his subject matter and approach as he continues to explore the rugged landscape of the North Pennines where he lives with his wife and daughter. He works quite rapidly in watercolour, trying to achieve spontaneity and a sense of loose reality. His subjects are landscape and seascape with abstract influence, still life and portraits, mostly in oils with a more figurative style. In all this he tries to capture the spirit and get to the heart where truth is.
