Alan Reed
Alan Reed was born in Northumberland, into a family with a history of painting. At the age of fifteen he fell in love with watercolour. Since then he has studied the work of the great exponents of watercolour and has developed a style that is both distinctive and instantly recognisable. Alan produces paintings that are representational but not photographic. He is concerned with capturing the light and the fleeting moment of time for which watercolour is ideally suited. The quality of Alan's work received national recognition with the selection of a number of his cityscapes for exhibition in the Sunday Times Watercolour Competition for three successive years.
