Harry originally developed his interest in photography through his love of mountaineering and, over the years, has photographed many mountaineering expeditions throughout the world. In April 2000 he gained a Fellowship of the Royal Photographic Society, the society's highest distinction, for his documentation of Ladakh and the life of the nomadic tribes-people living on the border with Tibet. Closer to home Harry enjoys photographing the landscape of Northumberland, and this selection of his work is drawn from Light on the Landscape. It is an ongoing project that investigates the many ways in which the natural light influences our view of the land and seascapes of Northumberland.
