Fiona Carvell

Fiona graduated as an Illustrator and Moving Image Designer from Suffolk College and the University of East London. She trained at the BBC and worked in broadcasting for many years before moving into teaching in 2002. She lectured in Graphic Design and Drawing for over 13 years in Further Education before moving on to run her own community based art classes and drawing workshops, which she continues to do across Northumberland and County Durham. She now combines this role with developing her own Creative Practice and has exhibited in County Durham, Northumberland and Yorkshire. An exciting and vibrant emerging artist, Fiona's work is also represented at galleries in Lancashire and the Outer Hebrides in Scotland. Capturing movement and a moment in time is a constant theme in Fiona’s pastel paintings. Driven by ideas and a passion for colour, every piece has an idea or purpose behind it. Her range of limited edition prints and original pastel paintings reflects a wide range of colourful subjects with a common sense of strong composition and mood.
