Geoff has taught art and design for near 35 years in the North East. He trained in Fine Art at Manchester Art College in the 1970s working mostly in fine art print. This led him to produce a series of landscape aquatint and dry point etchings. His interest in photography has its roots here as he often used black and white images to support his printing.
His work is predominately local and depicts landscape, seascape and industrial landscape. Early morning light and water are common themes throughout. He finds working pre-dawn to sunrise with minimal light interesting as it is a time of solitude and awakening. Capturing atmospheric images is most rewarding and light plays an important part in this.
The environment and nature have always been an integral part of his life. In the past Geoff has stored many visual memories in his mind but too many were lost to time. Photography can give such memories a sense of permanence and a vehicle to share that beauty with others.
His artwork is available up to A1 (59 cm x 84 cm) print size and can be framed in black, pewter or oak laminated frames. Please contact us of pricing information.
