Criss spent her childhood in Big Bear, California, moving to San Francisco to study at California College of Arts, where she discovered the magic of molten glass. After 2 years of study she crossed the Atlantic to finish her degree in the UK.
Criss is interested in developing texture by integrating non-glass materials into her glass works, and then exploiting techniques for working in both materials. Her work aims to make people question their views on glass and push the boundaries between glass and other materials. It is important for Criss that her artworks have interiors and exterior spaces for the viewer to enjoy and interact with.
