Catherine Stott
Catherine is a two dimensional artist painting in a range of media and mixed media/collage. The choice of medium and representational form for her artwork is a response to the inspirations for it.
Her most recent work uses other art forms as a focus and has involved collaborative work with musicians and poets. The 'music' series of paintings relates to compositions by North East composers - dancing to music and observing and listening to particular instruments. A visual interpretation of the abstract elements of music, combined with observation of the movement and emotional response to the music subject.
