Hazel Angus
Born and educated in Newcastle, as a child Hazel's particular interests were art, poetry, ballet and visiting her grandfather's secluded country cottage (the scene of her narrative childhood paintings).
Hazel produces varied work including portraits, life drawings, ballet studies and romantic mixed media paintings inspired by pre-20th century poetry.
A distinctive feature of her oeuvre is a continuing series of large-scale imaginative autobiographical oil paintings about her childhood.
